rectangular stamp- plant 9
A - raised,
B - recessed
C - raised / mirrored
D - recessed / mirrored
All our carved wooden stamps and hand rollers are deeply milled and, unlike laser-cut stamps and 3D printed plastic stamps, have beveled ridges. This makes them easy to remove from the clay and the printed image is much more vivid and lively.
All in all, you can choose from a total of 20 variations for each motif.
The stamp blocks are made of solid hardwood: cherry, beech, oak, etc., come from sustainable, European FSC-certified timber industry and are manufactured in Germany.
We oil all wooden stamps thoroughly once with a special linseed oil shortly before shipping. After a few days, the oil is completely absorbed and hardened. The stamp then becomes a little duller and can be re-oiled with linseed oil or tung oil. Allow the oil to soak in for approx. 30 minutes and then wipe off any excess with a cloth. This should always be repeated after careful cleaning with a little water. Never leave the stamp in water or dry it on a heater. This could lead to cracks etc. and fissures. Cared for in this way, you can enjoy it for many years.
You can achieve very clear results on clay when the clay is a little drier and no longer smears. Then (for larger stamps) tap the back of the stamp carefully and evenly with a rubber mallet.
With a little practice, you can achieve perfect embossing in plates. But of course there are many other ways of doing this, such as filling a light sock (or similar) with cornstarch and dusting the areas to be embossed with it. This way, the stamp can also be used with very fresh clay.
This also works with FIMO and the like.
