nordic Fox 6
Our pottery stamps are available in 9 different sizes to choose from.
They are thus compatible with standard tile cutters from the ceramics supply and perfect to combine with each other.
The somewhat "crooked" appearing sizes take into account on the one hand the shrinkage in clay due to drying and firing, in order to obtain tiles of approximately 5x5cm, 10x10cm and 20x20cm on the other hand to fit better to Anglo-American (inch) measurements.
Not only can you make your own tiles quickly and easily, but you can also do block printing and embossing on paper, card, wax and fabric, as well as texturing ceramic objects.
Our stamps and rollers are deeply milled and have beveled ridges. So they can be easily detached from clay
The clay stamps are made of solid hardwood: cherry, beech, oak, etc., are sourced from sustainable, European timber industries and are made in Germany.
If necessary, clean them with warm water and let them dry slowly. You can maintain them again with linseed oil afterwards.
This way they will last for generations.
Very clear results on clay are achieved when the clay is a little drier and no longer smears. Then use a rubber mallet to carefully and evenly tap the stamp into the clay.
With a little practice, you can achieve perfect embossing in plates this way. But of course, many other ways work as well, such as pouring food starch into a light sock (or similar) and dusting the surfaces to be stamped with it a bit. This is a great way to use the stamp on very fresh clay.
It also works well on polymer clay for jewelry making.
